Laurence Smith

Laurence is the lab group leader, and his research focuses on the development and application of tools and metrics for sustainability assessment to reveal trade-offs and synergies from innovations within farming and food systems.

Nick Davison

Nick is a Postdoctoral Researcher primarily working on the Re-Livestock project. His expertise includes lifecycle assessment, holistic sustainability assessment, economic assessment, stakeholder engagement, behavioural change, waste management and bioenergy in the agri-food sector.

Tom Staton

Tom is an ecologist by background with particular expertise in agroforestry systems. His current research is multidisciplinary and spans several projects, including Pathways, REFOREST, and LUNZ Grasslands

Jorge Campos Gonzalez

Jorge's research combines econometrics, data science, and machine learning with policy insights, focusing on how data and technology can enhance sustainability and productivity in the agri-food sector.

Dengsheng Sun

Sun is shifting his research focus towards agroecology, while maintaining an interest in his livestock background, especially relationships between animals and the environment.

Lewis Cameron

Lewis is an interdisciplinary social scientist with interests across the intersection of renewable energy systems, sustainable development and sustainable transitions. He explores pathways to advance sustainable systems, and the impacts of pathways.

Sally Westaway

Sally has a background in agroecological systems research, with expertise in agroforestry and small scale agroecological production systems. She is finalising a PhD investigating ecosystem services provided by trees on farmland, while also working on the LUNZ Grasslands project.

Jessica Bosseaux

Jessica is specialised in transdisciplinary research and sustainability assessment of agriculture and food systems, combining quantitative and qualitative methods to assess the full spectrum of sustainability impacts. She explores inter- and intra-dimensional trade-offs in sustainability.

Mali Gravell

Mali has a keen interest in food systems change. Currently she is working in partnership with the Sustainable Food Trust as part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership focusing on embedding the Global Farm Metric within target audiences.

Behnam Mirgol

With a PhD in Agroclimatology, Behnam combines climate science and modelling to enhance agricultural resilience. As a KTP Associate, he aims to develop an integrated data system (IDS) to empower farmers with sustainable decision-making tools.
